Bed Full

Because when you’re a parent you can’t say ‘There’s no more place on the bed”. Even if you’ve been pushed to the corner and are hanging on by your fingernails.

At last count, the OA and I were sitting on the floor and the bed was taken over by Spiderman, and 7 of the Bean’s ‘babies.’ Oh – the flavour of the day is a Koala bear called Cuddly. I think after the Bean broke her heart over the Lumpy episode she decided not to make the mistake of loving someone too much.

PS: Still begging you guys to vote for me here. I have only 60 votes in the face of those who have close to a 100. Please do take some time out. I know its a painful process but I’d really appreciate it. I’d love a nice new phone on which I can check my mail. My new 4 hour commute is a killer so I’m hoping to get some work done on the way.

  2. Voted voted…and at least this happens to you with two kids who are nearly 6 and nearly 4…how about a single R who just turned two and managed to push both her parents down the king sized bed so that she could sleep with her bum up sprawled at the middle of the bed :):)

  4. 10 occupants already. Add to them Tambi’s baby(s) when they all move to Delhi, along with the baby’s Noddy/Winnie/Spidey/teddy etc. You might want to make use of the sale at Plaza Mall and buy some more beds 😉
    Psst, Plaza is not to far from my place. *wink wink*

    Atleast they are both on the bed!!
    Cant say the same for my kids who tend to roll off and land with a big thump!!
    No amount of pillows/toys/barricades do the trick, so I now dump them on mattresses on the floor.
    And yet, they roll off it too 😦

    And oh, even before I read this post I had this huge smile on my face looking at the pic. Heffalump is back! So what if he’s got to share the love with other babies. We don’t mind sharing. And it’s good that Beanie has learnt not to love someone too much, so early. It’s hard when you have to learn that when you are older.

    I see Lumpy, even if he is sort of bottom of the pile.There is another elephant in the pack too? That Spiderman is konjam scary. I would die if I bumped into that almost lifesize thing in a dark hallway 🙂
    Here’s to the Button joining the babies (I know you haven’t named the Tambi baby yet, this is my interim suggestion :)).
    The BFF is expecting a baby in February and I can’t wait (almost petitioned her to come back to India, but since there is a teeny chance I might join her there, I am holding out from the petitioning for a bit) – can imagine what your levels of excitement must be like! 🙂

  16. Do u look at them forever when they are in-sleep….observing how peaceful they are in their slumber. U do no? Confess! Confess! N Beanie’s hand fallin over cuddly..it just looks soooo serene!

    N that spiderman IS scary ! whats with boys n the toys they like!

    I’m waiting for Blog approval since Tuesday MM. Any idea how long it takes to get approved? The message said I’ll get an email once its approved…I will no?

    • babe i havent bought them anything in three years other than educational toys for birthdays. this is from the super indulgent chhota nani and nana. let this be a lesson to all of you. this is how people go nuts when they become grandparents at 38
