Happy Babies. Day 4

You bet your sweet ass, this move to a suburb was worth it. I have two happy babies being schooled in places I love, loving this new home and making it their own.

Above is the little warrior… and below is the mother to Spotty the pup.

And for their happiness and good health, I am thankful everyday.

    • πŸ™‚ soon. am still not done with the house, so not putting up pics. its slow going since I cant climb up on chairs and ladders to knock in nails and hang up stuff.

  1. Happy Kids leads to Happy Momma …. that is why most people move into the suburbs. You’ll get pangs once in a while for the big city …. but with time they’ll fade

  2. Lumpy has indeed been outsed! I don’t know why that makes me sad?! But it does! But I wish Bean and Spotty loads of happiness. Love how the house looks, your trademark touches of earth colours and decor seem apparent, can’t wait to see the rest of the place. Hope the knee is better πŸ™‚

  3. You see every cloud does have a silver lining.
The room looks bright and sunny..and the kids happy and carefree.. πŸ™‚

  4. I love what I see MM πŸ™‚ Can’t wait to see the rest of your house.

I wish happiness and good health to both of them. Hope all of you have a beautiful life always.

Knee not much better, I gathered from the comment above. You are getting rest? Yes?

    • well i sit around sewing and doing some work. but theres not been a cure. the doc who i have to see has given me an appt too far away so i can do nothing but twiddle my thumbs

  5. OMG, OMG, OMG! When did beanie grow so tall?! In this one she looks like a star about to throw a tantrum. Or at least find a room full of people to tell someone off!

  6. Oh Wow!!
It seems like just yesterday when I saw the snaps of Beanie as a baby.
She sure has grown tall lately!!
Must be her father’s genes πŸ˜€

And yeah, regarding lumpy’s ‘fall from grace’, hope you aren’t equating him with yourself?!!
Self-flogging never helps, you know (though I’m guilty of it meself 😦 !!)

  7. Nice- I like it that you are seeing the brighter side of things every day.Lovely babies in a lovely house. About the floors, don’t mop too often.

  8. Omg!!! Bean looks so tall compared to the other pics u’ve posted of hers…almost like shez grown up overnight?! Did u say she is 3 odd yrs old?

The bedroom looks nice n spacious in this pic MM. N them curtains! i LOVE!!! The color n flavor, has such an ethnic feel to it!

  9. hurray..happiness, sunshine, brigh colors, wonderful kids…here to good things..

and now please please please change the Tag line “…is missing her home of five years. BADLY” . remember your promise to follow Brat ‘then and there’

    hope your knee feels better

  10. Very happy to hear the mad family is finally settling in, wishing you all the happiest of memories in your new place. I see it’s taking shape already.

PS: Are those wooden floors I spot? I had no idea we had them in India πŸ™‚

    • πŸ˜€ I am amused by the interest in the floors. I grew up in Munnar with ONLY wooden floors. That was 30 years ago – as did my dad – which was 55 years ago!
These are just laminate floors. Not so great. And all apartment complexes for atleast the last 5-6 years, have been built with these floors in all the bedrooms. Living rooms for some reason, have marble.

      • MM, Munnar as in Munnar kerala? didn’t know your mallu connection. traditional kerala houses, had lot of wood work and hilly places had wooden floors too. I was surprised finding wooden floors in Dehradun homes – on a visit when I worked in Delhi.

      • The part I grew up in (Madras) we never had wood floors, it was always tile or marble. And it made a lot of sense given the hot weather and cool floor contrast. I thought they were more common in here in the west.. that’s what piqued my curiosity πŸ™‚

        • which is a very smart thing. wooden floors are a disaster in india where we like to sweep and swab twice a day. i am hoping its a fad that will go away. it worked in the tea gardens because they were cold and it wasnt dusty at all.

  11. Great pictures MM. May God bless the Brat and the Bean.

Love the curtains πŸ™‚ And can see one plant at least in the background.

Take care of yourself and the knee.

  12. Hey Happy Singh πŸ™‚

When you comment on most of the individual comments, that surely is a good sign. The babies have grown up. The house looks lovely, MM.

  13. Beanie zindabad! She looks like nemo. Adorable, both of them!

And the curtains are really pretty! Where do you get this stuff from? I want to go shopping all over again too!

  14. The floor is clean and shows no signs of any flooding … which means, those awful days are gone … YAY !!!
The kids seem to be having a good time … a change of hair cut again for Beanie I suppose πŸ™‚

  15. that’s the spirit πŸ™‚
Now sit back and enjoy the lovely weather. Take the kids to Kingdom of Dreams when the knees permit…one superb place! And Galleria mkt for the fountains and…(never mind. I’l reserve the other good places for the next time you pine for Delhi.)

PS: I’ve never associated ‘lovely weather’ with ‘August’ in delhi before πŸ˜€

  16. hey,she walks like a model: the pout, the flick of the wrist and all!

and the brat and his sword are so cute! looks like your warrior is stretching after a round of battles πŸ˜€

    nicely captured!

    • πŸ™‚ thank you. I have a brilliant pic of them both sitting together… and her leaning back against him, with this bored look on her face, skinny little legs carelessly crossed at the ankle.. .and him hugging her fiercely, concentration writ large on his forehead. its such a picture of their personalities… and somehow their relationship too. Plus she looks all model-type. scary!

And in your opinion....
