This train is bound for glory

Dear Brat,

I’d never forgive myself if I didn’t put this down for posterity. You singing – “This train is poke-a-flory… this train, this train is bronkafolly, this train..”

There. Now all I have to contend with, is you never forgiving me.

You really do take after your father in this matter. Even he has been known to make up entire strings of gibberish and sing along.

Love

Ma

  1. I remember my sis making fun of my gibberish songs and that shut my singing out aloud for a few years.
Oh poor poor brat, you are scaring him for life.On the other hand, he might enjoy reading this and have a good laugh at himself when he turns into a rockstar. πŸ™‚

  2. Good one, :). This reminds me, my sister would sing
‘Mera piya ghar aaya “barah baje”‘ for
‘Mera piya ghar aaya oh ramji’…
She was also around brat’s age..

  3. Pls..Pls record them for posterity…This gibberish is absolutely adorable. Sigh! they outgrow this sooner than we think.

  4. i do this ALL the time. make up words where i don’t get the lyrics. i spent years singing ‘the girl with kaleidoscopic eyes’ (i.e. the line in the Beatles song) as ‘the girl with colitis goes by’. it didn’t even occur to me that this is a rather strange sentence to sing. πŸ˜›

i found out later though, that this particular line has been misheard for years. not that i care, really. πŸ˜›

atta boy brat. when you can’t get something, let your imagination take over. πŸ˜€

  5. Ooh yes! I know of a couple of TEENS who sang
    “we’re going to eat pizza”
    instead of
    “we’re going to ibiza”

  6. “…every time you go away, you take a piece of meat with you…” sung by my then 4 year old πŸ˜€
    Brat is tooo cute “bronkafolly”hehehe

  7. ‘Do Deewane Shehar Mein, Raat Mein Aur Dopahar Mein “Sabudana” dhoondatey hain” :-)) Me and brother used to sing that and wondered all the time that which city they live where finding sabudana is damn so tough!!

    • I used to sing that song too with my brother and say “abudana” wondering whether it is some particular type of “sabudana” which is why it’s very difficult to find it…

  8. Hey! That must be super cute to listen to πŸ™‚ “Bronkafolly” πŸ˜€

PS: I waited the entire day, so that I could see the video because something made me think you put a video of him singing that!!

  9. I have heard someone sing to the commercial of vicco turmeric..Vicco turmeric, nahi asthmatic (instead of nahi cosmetic)…

from a child whose mom had asthama..oh wait this was me πŸ˜€

  10. ROFL! Brat is adorable!

A much grown up friend of mine used to sing “We don’t need no birth control” for “We don’t need no thought control” until a few years back πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ It’s big enough for Roger Waters to cry! LOL!
